COLTS BUST OUT - BEAT SJCC 10-2



The Canada Colts ended their two-game skid with a convincing win over San Jose City College 10-2. Ray Torres surrendered only one earned run over seven full innings, and shortstop Eric Herrera and center fielder Chris Viegas both homered. DJ Johnston added two doubles and two RBI for the Colts. Canada now has an overall record of 21 - 9 and 10 - 5 in league.

The Canada Colts improved their won/loss record to 20 - 7 on the season and 9 - 3 in league as they overwhelmed Cabrillo 10-2 in Santa Cruz. Southpaw Ray Torres earned his fourth win of the season scattering six hits over eight innings. Outfielder Brian Marblestone went 3-3 at the plate with 4 RBI, and third baseman Nick Borg went 3-5 with a double.

GREAT SCOTT

COLTS HOLD OFF MISSION 14-12



Colts DH Kyle Wild Went 3-3 at the plate, shortstop Eric Herrera went 3-6 with a triple.and catcher Garret Feasel drove in 4 runs as the Colts held on for a 14-12 win over Mission.
Dan Zumudio picked up the win for the Colts with one and two-thirds innings of scoreless relief.
Colts second baseman Pierson Jeremiah gave the Colts bullpen a much needed breather by pitching 3 innings and fanning 5 batters. The Colts record is now 19 - 7 on the season and 8 - 3 in league.

COLTS HOMERS HELP HUMBLE HARTNELL 9-7


Brian Klimenko recorded his fifth win and Brett Kilburg picked up his sixth save as the Canada Colts held on against Hartnell 9-7 in Redwood City. Canada was staked to an early lead thanks to a five run third featuring home runs by outfielders Bobby Scott and Chris Viegas. Scott had three RBI on the day, and made a fine catch in the right field corner. Viegas went 3-4 at the plate as the Colts improved their record to 18-7 on the season and 7-3 in league.

The Canada Colts improved their record to 16 - 6 on the season (5 - 2 in league) with a well played, hard fought 3-1 win over perennial South Bay power West Valley in sunny Saratoga. Rangy right hander Brant Norlander pitched eight excellent innings for the Colts, scattering seven hits and yielding one earned run. At the plate, speedy outfielder Chris Viegas had a perfect day - going 3-3, with 2 RBI and a double.

COLTS OUTSLUGGED BY CABRILLO 11-7



A combined 28 hits - including four home runs - were peppered across Colt Field as Canada came up short in an 11-7 decision to Cabrillo on Tuesday. The loss dropped the Colts to 15-6 overall and 4-2 in league. Chris Viegas had a stellar day for the Colts, going 4-5 at the plate with a home run, three stolen bases and three RBI. Bobby Scott also homered for Canada.

COLTS 15 HIT ATTACK SILENCES MONTEREY 11-4

It what was a nail-biter through six innings, the Canada Colts scored four in the seventh and five in the eighth to overhaul Monterey 11-4 on a sunbaked day at Colt Field. DJ Johnston led the attack going 3-5 at the plate with 6 RBI. Bobby Scott went 3-3 for the Colts, who saw their overall record improve to 15-5 and league record go to 4-1 for the season.

HERRERA'S GRAND SLAM SINKS GAVILAN 4-1

Shortstop Eric Herrera unloaded a grand slam in the bottom of the eighth inning, erasing a 1-0 deficit and sending the Colts home with a 4-1 win over Gavilan on Thursday. Brian Klimenko picked up for starter Brant Norlander, who had only surrendered one run over five full, and pitched three scoreless innings for the win. Righthander Andrew Primesburger got the save - his second of the season. The Canada Colts are now 14 - 5 overall and 3 - 1 in league.

OHLONE STUNS COLTS LATE - TOPPLE CANADA 7-5

Another superb pitching effort by Anthony Armanino went for naught as Ohlone College stormed back with two in the eighth and four in the ninth to defeat the Colts 7-5 in Redwood City. Both Chris Viegas and infielder Nick Borg homered for the Colts. Daniel Johnston had a big day going 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI. The Colts are now 13 – 5 overall and 2 – 1 in league.
