COMEBACK COLTS CLIP CABRILLO 8-7

Bobby Scott's two-out, two-run double in the bottom of the 8th inning capped a four run rally, helping the Canada Colts comeback to defeat Cabrillo 8-7. Anthony Armanino got the win in relief - the final win of the regular season for the Colts who finished 2009 with a 29 – 12 record overall and 18 – 8 in league. Both Nick Borg and Curt Vail homered for the Colts, who now await their seeding in the Northern Calfornia State Playoffs.

The Colts fell to #2 state-ranked Ohlone College 7-1 in front of a sun-baked crowd in Fremont. Canada could only muster seven hits against Ohlone righthander David Luna - who threw a complete game with only two walks and six strikeouts. Shortstop Eric Herrera came in to throw one pitch in the top of the ninth and recorded the victory. Canada's 18 hits helped overshadowed three errors in the field. Right fielder Bobby Scott led the way, going 4-5 at the plate with a triple. Second sacker Pierson Jeremiah went 2-4 with a triple and 3 RBI. The Colts withstood two home runs and a four run ninth inning and came away with a 10-8 victory over Gavilan College in Gilroy. Sophomore Brian Klimenko earned the win, scattering seven hits over six inning. DJ Johnston went 4-5 for the Colts with a triple, and outfielder Brian Marblestone went 3-4 at the plate including a double and a triple. Shortstop Eric Herrera picked up two RBI as well as his second save of the season. The Canada Colts record improves to 22 - 10 overall and 11 - 6 in league.

And on April 1st, The California Community College Athletic Association released updated statistics for the 2009 season. Several Colts have made the Top 25 in a variety of pitching and offensive categories, not to mention the fact that the
Colts team ERA is at 3.21 - ranked 6th in the state.
